Course CMII-12 (Rev. J)

CMII/IPE Principles and Tailored Application

Abstract

CMII implementation involves a preparation phase, a transition phase and an application phase. This course focuses on the application phase.

The preparation phase served to define a set of preferred practices and a plan for transitioning to those practices from current practices.

The transition phase is typically accomplished on a program-by-program or site-by-site basis, or a combination of both.

Process users are to receive application training on a just-in-time basis and on-the-job coaching to achieve a desired level of proficiency.

This course is most effective when an ICM instructor teaches the CMII principles and a host instructor describes the tailored applications.

It may be taught in a 4+1 or 5-day format. Tailored applications may be described in detail on the fifth day or at the end of each chapter.

Each student that satisfactorily completes this course receives recognition as a "CMII Application Specialist."

That recognition is acknowledged by a "certificate of completion" from ICM, National American University and the host firm.

This course is for process users, not owners. Those responsible for process improvement should take the full certification series.
