As providers of CMII training and certification, our mission is to provide organizations with the most direct path for achieving integrated process excellence. Our goal is to help them establish a business process infrastructure that can accommodate change, keep requirements clear, concise and valid and achieve consistently conforming results. Our goals include retaining our world-wide recognition as the premier provider of "best practice" training in all aspects of configuration management and ensuring that CMII is an
essential element in every business process improvement initiative.

Problems with Quality?

If yes, you also have problems with schedule and cost — but those are only symptoms. Your real problem is configuration management (CM).

Trace a quality problem back to its root cause and you will find yourself in the domain of CM. That is where the problem must be fixed. How you fix this key business process is most important. The role of CM, must be understood and expanded.

The ability to accommodate change and keep requirements clear, concise and valid is a prerequisite. Once your CM process provides these capabilities, your quality, schedule and cost objectives can be achieved.

CMII Training and Certification Providers

Providers of CMII training and certification receive their authority from the CMII Research Institute. Authorized providers of CMII training are carefully selected, trained and continuously updated on the latest techniques. They represent the best of the best. Beware of those whose claim-to-fame is that they describe all approaches to CM. That is simply not true. Without authorized access to the world-class CMII course materials, they do not have the ability to describe the CMII approach.

CMII Leadership and Succession Plan

Ongoing evolution of the CMII course materials and administration of the certification program continue to be a team effort that is currently led by:

• Vince Guess, President, CMII Research Institute;
• Bill Guess, CIO, CFO and Manager, ICM - North America;
• Ken Black, VP of Training, ICM - North America;
• Guido Weischedel (GfKM-Europe) and
• Carol Cotty (ConfigOnline-South Africa).

Upon Vince's departure, Bill Guess is aligned to become CEO of ICM, which will be an employee-owned company. Ken Black is aligned to become GM of the CMII Research Institute and will maintain the course materials. The copyrighted course materials remain the property of the CMII Research Institute.
