Mary Ann Nixon, Public Relations

Mary Ann joined the Institute of Configuration Management in 1998 after accumulating over 20 years of experience in the health care industry. She handles all registration and invoice activity at ICM and continues to be the first point of contact for inquiries from across the U.S. and around the world. She also organizes the venues and arrangements for all CMII training courses. Mary Ann is CMII certified and was the Emcee for the 2004 and 2005 annual CMII conferences.

Bill Guess, CFO, CIO and Office Manager

Bill joined the Institute of Configuration Management when the business was relocated from San Diego, California to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1991. He previously had over 20 years of experience managing the engineering budgets and financials within Honeywell and General Electric. Since joining ICM, Bill has been the CFO and CIO. He also filled in as CEO during 2006. As of 2007, he has resumed his role as CFO and CIO. Bill holds a business degree from Arizona State University.

Ken Black, VP of Training

Ken has over 20 years of experience in management positions in aerospace and computer-oriented firms with an extensive blend of commercial, military, hardware and software programs. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in configuration management. Ken has been a CMII instructor since 1985.

Carol Cotty, Instructor

Carol started her career as a librarian and has a masters degree in librarianship. She has been working in the configuration management field for over 25 years, gaining her experience in CM as a practitioner, consultant and trainer. She started her own training company, ConfigOnline, over 9 years ago. She achieved CMII certification in 2003 and started teaching the CMII Courses in South Africa in 2004. She held the first annual CMII conference in South Africa in 2006.

Hans-Georg Dueck, Instructor

Hans-Georg has a degree in information technology and joined GfKM in 1998. He was working as consultant for configuration management for many customers especially in the automotive industries. Most of the projects were focused on software process improvement. He has significant experience with various software configuration management and change management tools and supports the customers in the implementation phase of the tools. He has written different articles and was co-author of the GfKM study regarding Configuration Management Tools. Since 1999 he is CMII certified and is working as CMII Trainer in Europe.

Eric Hales, Instructor

Eric has over 20 years in product data management, engineering systems design and implementation. He developed CM applications and implemented Metaphase at Honeywell. He did product demonstrations and proposal development at MatrixOne and was project lead for CMII certification of eMatrix. Eric has a B.A. from Arizona State. He graduated with honors in computer programming at Arizona Tech and is CMII certified.

Mark Andrews, Instructor

Mark has an Electronic Engineering degree from Liverpool University. He spent 5 years in Defence, 3 years in Engineering at Jaguar and 6 years in Research at Porsche AG before becoming Chief Engineer at Delphi in Liverpool — the lead European site for deployment of CMII. He spent the last 7 years as CMII Process and IT Tool Manager for Delphi E&S Europe and deployed the CMII process and associated IT tools at over 15 sites in Europe. Mark is fluent in German and is CMII certified.

 


Sheri Robinson, Advisor

Sheri joined ICM in 2008 and after 22 years of experience in processes, operations and management. She gained her CM experience working Department of Defense acquisition programs, industry IT, software and manufacturing. Sheri has a BS in aeronautics and an A.S. degree in Instruction of Military Science and another in Airway Science. Sheri is a USAF Master Instructor and a Florida State Occupational Instructor. She achieved CMII certification in 2005.

Guido Weischedel, Instructor

Guido worked for a major automotive supplier before forming a company to provide education and consulting in software CM in 1985. He has written several articles on software CM. He has a degree in information technology and is CMII certified. Guido began teaching CMII courses in the German language in 1998. His company was renamed GfKM in 1999. GfKM began offering public courses in most of Europe in 2004.

Ray Wozny, Instructor

Ray has over 23 years of experience in high tech firms with 19 in management. He has held various management positions and has been instrumental in implementing three PDM/PLM solutions. Ray has extensive experience in configuration management, technical publications and design support. He received CMII certification in 1989 and was on the ACDM's founding Board of Governors.

Bill Deringer, Legal Affairs

Bill is an attorney and systems engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the commercial and military electronics industries. He is the Director of Weather Radar Programs at RS Information Systems; his experience includes production management, facility management, systems engineering and configuration management. Bill is an active CM practitioner, ICM instructor and is CMII Certified.


Vince Guess, Founder of ICM & CMII

Vince founded the Institute of Configuration Management in 1984 and, except for 2006, continues to serve as President. He formed the CMII Research Institute in January, 2006 and devoted most of the year to its startup. Vince continues to direct the university-sponsored CMII certification program. He holds the B.S.M.E. and M.B.A. degrees and is the author of Engineering: The Missing Link In MRP (1979), CMII for Business Process Infrastructure (2002) and a 2nd Edition (2006).

Tim Ferguson, Advisor

Tim has spent over 40 years in commercial and federal acquisition programs. He has worked on the Space Shuttle, B-1B Bomber, F-15 fighter and Navy Vertical Launch systems. He is CMIIP certified and has performed CM/DM for several defense contractors and government agencies. He is currently the Configuration Manager for acquisition programs within U.S. Customs and Border Protection and he served two terms as a Maryland State Senator (1994-2002).

Stephanie Verstraete, Instructor

Stéphanie has a degree in translation in Spanish, French & Dutch and has completed a postgraduate course in foreign trade and international marketing. Since 2010 she is CMII certified and is now working as a CMII Trainer in Europe largely in Spain because of her fluent Spanish language skills. Prior to becoming a CMII trainer she worked mainly for the Automotive sector.

Manfredo D'Alessandro Caprice, Instructor

Manfredo D'Alessandro Caprice after his Ph. D. in Aerospace Engineering initiated consulting activities in multidisciplinary optimization and PLM. In the last ten years he was leading implementation teams of several enterprise PLM with special focus on Change and Configuration Management. Today he is working, together with PLM consulting, also on delivery of the CMII courses in Italy.

Dan George, Advisor

Dan has over 25 years of embedded systems software development experience in a variety of industries. After earning a BSEE, he worked at Bently Nevada and later at HP. In 2005, he joined Insitu where he develops embedded software for unmanned aerial vehicle systems. He was CMII certified in 2008 and believes that the CMII principles can significantly improve software development productivity. He has since been helping ICM develop Course CMII-13 for managing the software lifecycle.
